This week has been a very busy one!
As well as writing a News Report on deforestation in the Amazon Rainforest, we also wrote a letter to the President of Brazil voicing our concerns… and then we posted it!
The highlight of the week however, has to be the wonderful singing at St. Alban’s Abbey, where the children sang the songs they have been learning for the past 10 weeks. It was a wonderful performance and they should all be very proud of themselves as they sounded brilliant!
Next week we will be making ‘chocolate spoons’ for the Christmas Fair, so if you have any unneeded tea spoons please do send them in!
Last week was a very active and creative week for 5 Fine.
We continued looking at the Amazon rainforest and painted our own rainforests in the style of Henry Rousseau.
We also took part in a ‘Fun’ Run at St. Paul’s where there were some very impressive performances.
There was also lots of creativity in Maths when we looked at pictographs and charts to present information and created our own.
This week the children were handed a very important task. Mr Billing had asked year 5 for help in choosing a country in South America for him to visit on holiday. The children had to write a script and perform a persuasive and informative presentation, in the hope of persuading Mr Billing to choose their country as his holiday destination.
This week we began learning about South America. We used our knowledge of news transcripts to create a news report which we then performed to Year 2!
